One of the beautiful and humbling things about owning a business is having the opportunity to give back to my community, and earth. It has always been a main priority of mine to be involved in as many charities as I can. The more my small business grows, the more I am able to help our world and give back. Below are some of the charities we have supported, either financially or in person. By supporting us, you too are supporting these amazing causes. We are excited and committed to growing this list.
AMCS- Australian Marine Conservation Society
AMCS are committed to helping ensure Australia's coasts and oceans remain healthy and free for tomorrow's generations. We designed our Spirit of the Sea print with this in mind. We financially support AMCS and are committed to raise awareness of this great cause.
ILF- Indigenous Literacy Foundation
We were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to collaborate with the incredible indigenous artist Ryhia Dank of Nardurna. We knew that we wanted to financially support a charity that works directly with the indigenous children of Australia so we asked Ryhia which charity was closest to her heart. We are honoured to support ILF who are a national book industry charity dedicated to lifting literacy levels in remote Indigenous communities, so all children across Australia have the same choices and opportunities.
QENDO- Queesnland Endometriosis Foundation
We were so thrilled to be contacted by QENDO to collaborate and create a Bed Mate exclusive to their amazing organisation. 100% of proceeds goes directly to their charity. QENDO is the peak body for people affected by endometriosis and other pelvic health related conditions. Their work assists in advising and advocating for improved services and quality of life for their members. GERF – Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund
When the horrific and totally devastating bush fires of the 2019/2020 summer hit, we new we had to help. On January 24th 2020 we held a special sale and donated 100% of our profits to GERF. They are a charity run by volunteers to provide short term funds to those impacted by natural disaster.
Rural Aid Australia
The bushfires mentioned above hit everyone hard, but especially our Aussie farmers. We financially supported the Buy A Bale campaign, which is a drought appeal campaign providing meaningful support for farmers by delivering hay and other essential items to farmers who have no feed left for their cattle.
As well as financially supporting charities, it is also so important to me to get out there amongst the community and get my hands dirty. So for the past 12 months I have been volunteering my time at LifeHouse Kitchen who prepare, cook and then freeze meals that provide a temporary relief for anyone experiencing a challenging season.
Watch this space as we continue to add charities that we support!
